The North coast of the island has a majestic, impressive personality and is marked by two bit bays. On one side there is the
Pollensa Bay with picturesque mountains in its interior and on the other side the
Alcudia Bay with pinewoods, dunes and beaches with white sand.
The natural
Alcudia park includes 2500 hectares of wetlands and is inhabited by more than 200 different species of birds which have their nests throughout the reeds.
In the seventies
Ca’n Picafort was a small fishing village with a population of approx. 200 people and has developed of the decades into one of the biggest tourist areas of the island.
The city is situated in the middle of beautiful nature and surrounded by villages with a long history and tradition.
One of them is
Santa Margalida, only 10 km away, where the famous procession to the glory of the canonicate Santa Catalina Tomás takes place. Another village is
Sa Pobla, where the popular celebration in honour of San Antonio is a tradition for more than six centuries.
Pollensa harbour and the picturesque village are famous for the prestige festival of classical music. What is also worth a visit is the former fishing
harbour of Alcudia with its medieval village and the impressive rock of
Cap de Formentor that abruptly falls into the sea.
