You can’t miss Palma City

It is a must to visit the old town, starting with Almudaina Palace, The Cathedral, The Fish Market or Twon Square (Plaza Mayor). These are some of the most visited places in the city, and if you are a traveller on Majorca, you must visit them.

  • The cathedral of Palma called “Sa Seu” enjoys a privileged location, next to the bay and fishing port; The building of Gothic origin, was built by order of King Jaume I on the old mosque of Medina Mayurca, its construction began in 1229, after the conquest by the Crown of Aragon.
  • The Almudaina Palace, just in front of the cathedral, which once was an Arab palace and residence of the Majorcan monarchs, it is currently used as a museum.
  • In the gardens of Can Fontirroig, located at number 7 on Can Serra street in Palma, are the Arab Baths, one of the few remnants of Muslim architecture preserved on the island.
It is a square surface room with 12 columns that support a dome with several round openings. This room was intended for hot baths.
  • Town Square (Plaza Mayor), with its characteristic architecture of the fourteenth century and surrounded by centuries-old buildings; in it you will find street artists, weekly markets and numerous shops, galleries and coffee shops.
You can sit at one of the many bars that are there and enjoy a coffee, a drink or even a refreshing ice cream while watching the bustle of people up and down.
